Chas’s strong work foundations were set many years ago after embracing a time at sea and on land as a helicopter engineer with the Royal Navy (Fleet Air Arm). After serving for 10 years, he forged a meaningful and successful career in Lloyds Bank as a Financial Planning Manager covering West Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. A Cornishman to the core, Chas grew up in Falmouth, the place he considers home, but has lived for many years in Carbis Bay.
With so much experience and an armful of skills, he joined Jacksons in 2009 as an Adviser and he became a director and co-owner in 2014. Since then, he has helped the company evolve to where it now stands. Chas also gets great personal and professional satisfaction from spending time with and guiding his clients, to make good financial and sometimes personal decisions. He is approaching 33 years in the Financial Services Industry!
We could talk to Chas all day about the interesting stories of his working life. He has so much to give to our clients and colleagues alike and has, over the years, made many friends from clients due to the trust he generates in people.
Here’s Chas in his own words:
On Sunday mornings you can usually find me…
Going for a run or a swim (sometimes both). Running is something I’ve enjoyed since my early teens but as I approach my 60s it’s much more a leisurely jog. If I can run around three times a week – injury free – then I’m very happy man!
What would be your personal motto?
Work hard, strive to achieve, but enjoy the journey. I genuinely believe if you work hard for something, whatever the odds you’ll get your reward, but you must enjoy your time along the way.
