Unit Three - November 2024 Update

It's crunch time down at the new offices!

Things are moving on at pace down at the new office. These photos were taken a little over a week ago now and it’s already looking a lot different. We’re hoping to move in at the start of December, all being well. It’s very much dependent on co-ordinating all the finishing-off in a tight back-to-back fashion, a bit like a logic puzzle!

The frame for the staircase has been installed. Custom made wooden treads are due to be installed soon. We think it's going to look pretty swish. The overall aesthetic for the office is industrial-chic. There will be exposed ducting and a painted breezeblock wall down at the far end of the open plan area (which you can see here in the image above), but also warmer touches with lots of plants, wooden accents and pops of Jacksons colour.

The tiling is complete in the large, accessible shower room, along with recessed strip-lighting in the ceiling.

It's going to be such a treat to have a shower installed at the office. For anyone who would like to cycle to work or go for a 10k run before heading in to the office, it's going to facilitate that. This room also doubles up as an accessible w/c which we're delighted about as it means we get to offer more inclusive facilities to our staff and clients.

Below is the foyer area, looking to the meeting rooms. The meeting rooms will have a bi-fold door down the centre separating the two rooms which we can push back to make a larger meeting space for events when needed.

The trim has been installed around the doorways throughout. As you come up the stairs there will be two office spaces, one to the left and one to the right, which will be used as Pete's recording studio and Sharon's zen-den.

Below is the interior of the front elevation of the building. It's all glass with lovely views out over the harbour area. We're very excited for when the NSN signs come down from the windows and we can get a real feel of the natural light that will pour into the space.

The exposed ducting for the ventilation system, which also provides heating and cooling for the building, runs throughout the office. The idea is that the space will be kept at a constant comfortable working temperature (and not freezing cold in winter or boiling hot during the summer.)

Construction and renovation projects always take longer than anticipated and we're very lucky that we are not pressured to vacate our existing offices in a hurry. That said, we can't wait to move in to our new home. It really wont be long now until we get in there and we're excited for project completion and the final reveal. Coming soon!
