Since completing on the purchase of our new office home back in October, we’ve been working to find the right builder at the right price, get drawings completed and begin the building work.
Two out of three ain’t bad.
We have commissioned NSN to lead the build. I have known Joss Sullivan-Norcliffe, one of the founder-directors of NSN since he was a teenager living opposite me in St Buryan. He and his co-director Neil have since built a thriving and growing business.
The drawings are pretty much complete for the build. We’re putting in a mezzanine floor with a meeting room, a studio for Meaningful Money and some storage. Underneath the mezzanine will be a kitchen, bathrooms, a print room and some more storage. A complicating factor is that the mezzanine can’t put any load on the building – we really don’t want four floors of old folks’ apartments coming crashing down on us! This has meant lots of structural engineering calculations and back and forth, but we are pretty much there, now.
So we’re nearly ready to begin work – should be any day now. We’d like to think we can move into our new home in August, maybe September. When we do, there will be a party, for sure!
We’ll keep you posted, but for now, all there is to see are the NSN signs in the window!
